Mumbai: Nike India, official apparel partner of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), launched the Indian cricket team’s new ‘dry-fit technology’ kit for One-Day Internationals.
The team will be seen in action in the new kit with a tricolour design on a bold blue background during the five match series against New Zealand.

Donetsk (Ukraine): Yelena Isinbayeva has broken her own indoor pole vault record by clearing a height of five metres.
At a sports event, Pole Vault Stars, in Donetsk (Ukraine) the 26-year-old eclipsed the mark of 4.95 meters she set last year.

Modi threatens to shift IPL matches from Jaipur
New Delhi: IPL boss Lalit Modi is not the one to back away from a confrontation. Accused of cheating and forgery by his opponents, Modi has now threatened to pull out IPL matches from Jaipur if what he calls a “political witch-hunt” goes on.

New Delhi: Sania Mirza, India’s highest ranked women’s tennis player has now fought her way back into the top 100 of the singles WTA rankings
After her great showing at the Pattaya Open, where she lost in the finals on Sunday, to world number 5 Vera Zvonereva, the Indian star has jumped 39 places in the latest WTA rankings that refreshed on Monday.
She is now ranked 87th in the world. Sania is making a comeback to the sport after a wrist injury that forced her out for the majority of 2008.

Baljit and Pillay anchor Indian win over Germany
Goalkeeper Baljit Singh, aided by a good midfield support anchored by the likes of Vickram Pillay, gave India a sweet and memorable victory over the methodical Germany 2-0.

Mashrafe Mortaza, the Bangladesh allrounder, is the first player up for sale from Pool F. There were no bids for him initially but just before the hammer went down, Kolkata made a bid at the base price of $50,000. It was the start of the most dramatic sale at the auction.
